Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Everr AI LLC ("we", "us", "Everr") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the 985 mobile application (the "App"). 985 is a private, invite-based forum for verified members of participating chapters. We have written this policy to be plain-spoken; if anything is unclear, email us at dan@bychance.dating.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Account information
When you create an account in 985 we collect:
- Email address — required, used to authenticate you and to send password resets and important service notifications.
- Display name — required, what other members see.
- Handle — required, your unique @username inside 985.
- Optional profile fields you choose to provide: short biography, chapter affiliation, class year, major, hometown, current city, industry.
If you sign in with Apple, your email address is shared with us by Apple (you may choose to share a private relay address instead, in which case Apple forwards messages to your real email without revealing it to us). We do not receive any other information from Apple.
1.2 Content you post
We store the content you submit to the App: forum threads, thread replies, feed posts, and feed post replies. This content is visible to other authenticated members of the chapters and boards where it is posted. We do not sell or share this content with third parties.
1.3 Reports and moderation records
If you report another member's content for policy violations, we store the report (the content reported, the reason, and the timestamp). Reports are visible to council members who handle moderation. We retain reports as long as the associated content exists, plus a reasonable period afterward for audit purposes.
1.4 What we do not collect
- We do not use third-party analytics (no Google Analytics, Amplitude, Mixpanel, Firebase Analytics, or similar).
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA, GAID).
- We do not collect precise location data.
- We do not collect contacts, photos, microphone, or camera data.
- We do not collect device-level identifiers beyond what is needed for crash diagnostics (and we currently do not run a crash reporter at all).
2. How we use information
- To run the service — authenticate you, display your content to other members, send service notifications.
- To maintain safety — operate the reporting and moderation system.
- To improve the App — review aggregated, non-identifying usage patterns to fix bugs and improve features.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising. We do not use your data to train machine-learning models.
3. How we store information
All account data, profile data, and content are stored on Supabase, a Postgres-based backend-as-a-service provider, in their managed cloud infrastructure. Supabase is our sole infrastructure processor and the only third party that has access to the database. Their privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policy.
4. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access — see what data we have about you. Most of this is visible inside your account.
- Correct — edit your profile fields at any time inside the App.
- Delete — delete your account from Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your authentication record, anonymizes your profile, and clears your reports, blocks, and notifications. Your posts remain visible but are attributed to "Deleted member."
- Export — email us at dan@bychance.dating and we will send you a copy of your data in a portable format within 30 days.
5. Children
985 is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
6. Security
We protect your information with industry-standard practices: passwords are hashed by Supabase Auth; data in transit is encrypted with TLS; access to production data is limited to a small number of authorized administrators. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced inside the App and reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
8. Contact
